SOULvation are a live Soul, Motown, Funk and Disco function band based in the North West, playing classic songs from the 60's through to the present day.

We are guaranteed to have people singing, dancing and having a good time from the first song to the last.

All of our songs are classics and we take you on a musical journey. From the birth of soul and Motown in the 60's, through to disco and funk in the 70's and 80's and bring things right up to date with modern tunes inspired by the 60's and 70's like Uptown Funk, Valerie and Mercy. If you would like us to include some pop and/or rock we can happily perform that too, just let us know at the time of booking.

We formed in 2012 and are a very experienced 5-piece band, comprising of a female lead singer, keyboard player and backing singer, drummer, guitarist and bass player. Vocal harmonies are a vital part of so many of the songs we perform and our singers harmonise very sweetly. Equally at home playing weddings, birthdays, partys, corporate events, pubs or clubs.

We have £10M Public Liability Insurance and all our equipment is PAT Tested. We have our own top quality PA system and lighting. We can include a full DJ service and have a library of over 10,000 songs covering all tastes.

Please have a look around the site to learn more about us and contact us to discuss a booking or ask any questions, email soulvationband@hotmail.co.uk or telephone 07963 042481.

Kev - Bass

Kev has been playing bass over 30 years in a variety of original, cover, function and tribute bands. He was a teenage rock and heavy metal fan who discovered soul and Motown via The Commitments and Blues Brothers films, opening up a new musical world he continues to explore.

Making up half of SOULvation's rhythm section along with Robbie, they aim to have the audience moving and grooving from the start to the end of every show, with their tight and funky playing.

Paul - Keyboards and Backing Vocals

Paul made a welcome return to SOULvation at the start of 2019, having taken time out to establish his own home maintenance business. He has been playing piano since age 10 and has been in bands since the age of 17.

Having grown up listening to his sister's Motown records, Paul has always enjoyed the unique vibe of soul. He takes particular

pride in getting the sounds required to make each song sound as authentic as possible.

He is a founder member of the progressive rock band Strangefish and has composed and performed material on all 3 of their albums.

Paul has worked in music for wellbeing at blueSCI Old Trafford where people who are struggling emotionally can use music and composition as a

way of expressing themselves. He has hosted celebration performances of this work at RNCM Manchester on several occasions. He worked at Seed Studios helping people to compose and record original work.

Bob - Guitar

Bob  started playing blues guitar aged 15 and played guest spots alongside his guitar tutor’s band The Roach Twins in local pubs.

He expanded his musical vocabulary in his late teens learning rock, funk and jazz guitar styles and continues to enjoy exploring and playing chord voicings and rhythmic phrases found in soul, funk and jazz.

He is also a member of progressive rock band Strangefish and has played alongside Paul (Keyboards and Backing Vocals) for over 25 years.

Robbie - Drums and Backing Vocals

Robbie is the newest member to Soulvation joining in June of 2022 at the age of 22. Son of Soulvation keys player Paul, Robbie grew up playing a variety of instruments including guitar, keys and vocals from the age of 7. However, drums and percussion have always been his passion. Some of his favourite drum heroes include Robert 'Sput' Searight of Snarky Puppy and Gavin Harrison of 'Porcupine Tree'.

Robbie grew up listening to progressive rock music from Paul's band Strangefish. Ever since, he has always been fascinated with music from funk, soul, pop, rock and jazz. His favourite artists include Stevie Wonder, Prince, Charlie Puth, Tears For Fears and Jacob Collier.

Robbie has performed around the North West in a variety of bands and performance settings. He has been orchestral percussionist at Trafford Music Service, has performed countless jazz gigs as a session drummer and is currently the keyboard player in the Liverpool based funk band 'Ritual Kiss'.

Robbie has started producing his own electro pop music under the stage name 'nineofhearts'. He has just released his debut EP '9OH' which is available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music etc.
